Dr. Ishan Bakshi is an accomplished Hospitality Academician, Researcher, and Academic Professional with over a decade of experience in higher education and the hospitality industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Hotel Management from Kurukshetra University and possesses expertise in teaching, research, academic administration, institutional quality assurance, and hospitality operations.
His areas of academic and research interest include Hospitality Management, Food Production, Culinary Tourism, Food and Culture, Tourist Behaviour, Customer Satisfaction, Hospitality Technology, and Quantitative Research Methods. He has served at reputed institutions, including Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana; GNA University, Phagwara; and Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, along with valuable practical experience in hospitality industry operations and management.
An active researcher and committed research supervisor, Dr. Bakshi has successfully supervised two Ph.D. scholars and is currently supervising two additional doctoral researchers. He has published 45 research papers, including 11 Scopus-indexed publications, in national and international journals and conference proceedings. His interdisciplinary research spans hospitality, tourism, culinary studies, sustainability, customer behaviour and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Blockchain, Cloud Kitchens and smart food systems.
Dr. Bakshi has also contributed two book chapters, authored one book and holds six granted patents, reflecting his commitment to innovation and applied research. He actively contributes to Ph.D. coursework, curriculum development, NAAC and quality assurance, research coordination, and institutional development, with a strong commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation, industry-academia integration, and student development.
